ARTS COUNCIL RELEASES MEDIA GUIDE

Rochester, NY - The Arts & Cultural Council is releasing the 10th Millennium Edition of the Media Guide and Directory, the only comprehensive guide to media contacts throughout the Rochester-Finger Lakes region.

The Media Guide is an essential tool for any business that needs to publicize its events, services or products in the Rochester area. The Guide includes contact information for television, radio, magazines and newspapers. New with this edition is an optional electronic text file of contact information.

The Media Guide also includes guidelines for writing and placing an effective press release, getting coverage for an event, handling interviews, and managing press relations.

"It's the only guide I use for western New York media," says Andrea Strano, publicist for the American Red Cross. "It's organized for quick access to the information I need, and it's small enough to carry."

"The Arts Council's Media Guide has indispensable information and it's convenient to use," according to Julie Van Benthuysen, Upstate Manager for Media Relations and Corporate Communications with Chase Manhattan Bank.

The Media Guide and Directory is available for purchase from the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester at $75 (minus a discount of $25 for Arts Council members) or $95 including the electronic text file disk (minus a discount of $35 for members). Shipping and handling are $5. Contact the Arts Council at 716/473-4000.
