The Arts & Cultural Council Partners With The Friends of Ganondagan at Ganondagan’s 2004 Native American Dance & Music Festival July 24 & 25, 2004
The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester and The Friends of Ganondagan, Inc. are pleased to announce their partnership on a pilot project, the Traditional Artist Biography Project, at Ganondagan’s 2004 Native American Dance & Music Festival on July 24 and 25, 2004. Native American traditional artists at the Festival can sign up to be interviewed by Susie Chodorow, Folklorist at the Arts & Cultural Council, and Ronnie Reitter, Staff Member at Ganondagan State Historic Site and traditional artist. The interviews will be used to write individual biographies of the artists. Kevin Vickers, Photographer, will photograph the artists. Copies of the biographies and photographs will be given to the artists to use for their portfolios, and placed in Ganondagan’s archives. Artists will have an additional opportunity to participate in the Biography Project at Ganondagan’s Winter Festival in December 2004. The project is funded by the Folk Arts Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester.
