Arts In Education Roundtable Presents Workshop:
Iintegrating the Arts into the Classroom
The Arts in Education Roundtable of the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester presents Integrating the Arts into the Classroom: Aesthetic Education Institute's Focus School -Children's School of Rochester on Monday May 22nd, 2000 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in Activity Room C at Strong Museum, One Manhattan Square. The program is free and open to all those interested in the arts and education.
The presenters, Elizabeth Stewart and Julie Peterson from Aesthetic Education Institute (AEI), teaching artist Herb Smith, and a teacher and parent from the Children's School, will share their experiences with this one-year-old collaborative school program. They will talk about how the program got started and specifics of this year's teaching artist work, and how AEI programs work. The program also includes audience participation in exercises illustrating what aesthetic education is and how it works in a group of learners.
The Arts in Education Roundtable is a consortia of arts organizations, artists, teachers, education administrators, parents, and others interested in making the arts basic to education. The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester sponsors the Roundtable.
