Announces Special Opportunity Stipends Recipients

Rochester, NY - The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester and New York Foundation for the Arts announce the recipients of Special Opportunity Stipends (S.O.S.) in the Genesee Valley/Finger Lakes Region. The program provides stipends for artists to take advantage of opportunities that will help further their careers.

Sixteen (16) visual, performing, and literary artists will receive a total of $5,000 in funding. The New York State Council on the Arts through the New York Foundation for the Arts funds the S.O.S. program. It is administered by the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester in association with area arts councils.

The S.O.S. advisory panel for these stipends included: Kathryn Ashley Hollinger, Genesee Valley Council on the Arts; Catherine (Kit) Fallon, Finger Lake Arts Grants; Sally Fox; Paul Stuart; Helga Shulz Morgan; Terry Chaka, Kitabu & Culture; Kevin Schoonover, Wayne County Council for the Arts; and Ginna Moseson and Rebecca Rabideau, Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester.
