Volunteer Data Base Manager Job Description
(Part-time, 10-15 hours weekly, overall 100 hr. minimum)
The Data Base Manager is responsible for the integrity and maintenance of a master database and its' related databases using MS Access. This includes input of membership renewals, customer information, mailing lists, and other data as requested. Output includes mailing labels, text files, and various print-outs. Working knowledge of Word and Access would be helpful. Because the Data Base Manager serves as a quality control person for the master data base, strong organization and accuracy skills are critical.
Specific tasks include:
Membership maintenance and support
- Update renewals to appropriate databases
- Add new members to appropriate databases
- Generate text files for preparation of billings or letters
- Artist directory status reports, and web site data base
Data entry
- Input change of information, events attendees, publication purchasers, mailing lists, etc.
- Ttime permitting, input data into other data bases such as awards luncheon
- Data output
- Mailing label requests
- Generate labels as requested for in-house programs and external requests for sale
- Health insurance program support
- Update master and artist databases, and insurance programs
- Run quarterly invoices program and report
General
- Backup weekly
- Iprove system with approved changes

Volunteer Development Assistant Job Description
(Part-time, 10-15 hours per week)
A development assistant is responsible for providing support to the development director. Some of the tasks that could be requested are listed below:
• Assist with drafting of grant proposals and related materials
• Process requests for membership information
• Follow-up communication to membership renewal solicitations
• Bulk mail support
• Assist with grants process as needed
Requirements:
Detail oriented with strong organizational, oral and written communication skills. Flexibility and critical thinking are a must.

Volunteer Communications & PR Job Description
(Part-time, 10-15 hours per week)
- Proofreads copy for publication to detect errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax
- Verifies facts and dates using standard reference sources
- Initiate or reply to correspondence regarding material published or being considered for publication
- Perform mail merges and mail letters
- Research and compile information on various artists and arts organizations
- Maintain newspaper clip file on member organizations/individuals
- Plan special events
- Send out press releases
- Assist with other communications projects as needed
Must possess writing skills to compose letters, memos and other miscellaneous correspondence. Must possess proofreading skills and have knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Must possess knowledge of spreadsheet software. Computer literate. Interest in Communications and the arts.

Volunteer Computer Systems Assistant Job Description
(Part-time, 10-15 hours weekly)
The Computer Systems Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Finance & Systems Director. This includes database and web site maintenance, as well as trouble shooting hardware and software problems.
Specific tasks could include:
Web site Maintenance
update and improve weekly using html or Dreamweaver
design new pages as needed
design new applications as needed
Database Management
improve efficiency of database by eliminating unnecessary fields and revising input forms
input membership renewals, changes of information, events attendees, publication purchasers, mailing lists, etc.
output mailing labels, reports, and directories
Systems Operations
trouble shoot hardware and software problems
streamline configuration and documentation of personal computers
install software
manage backup and restoration of data
Requirements:
Working knowledge of programming in html, perl, sql, or Cold Fusion would he helpful. Database management requires strong organizational skills and accuracy. Task emphasis is placed on the volunteer's highest skill level.

Volunteer Grants Intern Job Description
(10-15 hours per week during school year, 20+ hours during summer months)
Working under the direction of the Director of Development and Member Services, the Grants Intern will participate in the administration of the Arts & Cultural Council’s Grant Programs: Community Arts Grants and Special Opportunity Stipends for Artists.
Specific tasks include:
Active participation in public relations efforts related to grants
Marketing and distribution of grant materials
Community outreach
Research
Program planning
Application processing
Contract processing
Note taking at panel meetings
